Malcolm Cooper has been appointed as Group Managing Director of VPS. Malcolm joined VPS in February 2016 and, in additional to his new role as Group Managing Director, retains his previous role as Regional Director, Europe. Malcolm brings considerable international Commodity Testing, Inspection and Certification experience to VPS having held senior management positions over a long career with SGS. He assumes responsibility for VPS with a focus on aligning the Group’s activities to grow overall share in its core markets and diversify the range of services provided to the marine industry.
VPS has been in the forefront of bunker quantity surveying work since we started this service 30 years ago. During this time, we have completed in excess of 80,000 surveys in over 200 international ports.
Rotterdam, Netherlands 1st July 2016: John Notman-Watt has been appointed as Executive Chairman of VPS. John has been a member of the Board since IK Investment Partners acquired VPS from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in 2013. John brings considerable international experience in the Testing Inspection and Certification industry having spent 18 years with Intertek followed by positions with Exova (formerly Bodycote) , the Stewart Group (where he was Managing Director) and more recently Group Trigo (where he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board). Gerard Rohaan (Chief Executive Officer) has stepped down from his role and John will take on an executive role to work closer with the management team in continuing to develop and expand VPS’s commercial activities.

DNV GL and Veritas Petroleum Services underpin strategic partnership with launch of new Fuel Analytics solution
HAMBURG, 17 February 2016: Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) and DNV GL announced the launch of a new Fuel Analytics solution today. As part of DNV GL’s ECO Insight fleet performance management portal, the tool will enable a systematic assessment of the impact of fuel quality on vessel performance, for the first time ever. The Fuel Analytics solution is the result of an ongoing close cooperation between VPS and DNV GL.
VPS raises concerns over draft international standard ISO 8217 (DIS) for marine fuels; INTERTANKO echoes concerns
Rotterdam, 5 February 2016 – Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) today expressed reservations about some of the proposed revisions to the international ISO 8217 specifications of marine fuels. Areas of significance include proposed changes that may be unfavourable to ship owners and operators.
