Leading the way to sustainable solutions

VPS attend the Maritime Decarbonization Alliance workshop, Rio

Last week, a VPS team of Emilian Buksak, Guilherme Cirino and Matias Sich, attended the 3rd Maritime Decarbonisation Alliance Workshop in Rio de Janeiro. The event organised by Innovation Norway, included vessel operators, owners and technology partners from Brazil and Norway.

One key question was shared between the event delegates, “How do we cut fuel and emissions without compromising safety?

The VPS answer, “validate the data, correct for fuel and weather and then compare.”

Whatever the tool, trust starts with the data and any operator can start tomorrow, with the data it already has.

Spreadsheets, fleet software and AI agents set the speed. Whether you can trust the answer, depends on validated data and analytics that correct for the fuel and the weather. That is where data quality, domain knowledge and analytics meet.

Highlights of the event were the guided tour at Petrobras's research centre, CENPES, OceanPact's work on Brazilian ethanol for offshore vessels, and sharp questions on DP capability and planning.

The VPS team would like to thank Innovation Norway and Petrobras for hosting us.
